Day of prayer, rest day and other activities, Sunday is a holy day for all.
In the Tuamotu, it is usual to take a boat in family to go to one of the many motu (small islands that look like paradise) sprinkles the coral reef to spend the day there.
Ato, emblematic character of the Tuamotu, is a real star in the art of throwing the Patia. 2 meters long, the harpoon, dreadful, hit almost every time ! Parrots fish, small jacks and groupers are no exception to the rule. This fishing style, impressive and generous inside the lagoon of Fakarava (World Heritage Site by UNESCO), which brings a delicious raw Tahitian style fish, all on a deserted beach fringed with coconut.
At the end of the day, back at thedock of the family pension, the fish are gutted, scaled under the watchful eye of a cat who knows he will eventually enjoy the spoils ...
Inthe golden light of evening, we understand that these people's happy to commune with them nature which they collect only for their basic needs. Sweetness life, welcome to the Tuamotu !
